Q: I want to participate. How do I register?
A: We want you to perform at this inaugural event! All participants register through www.RejoiceWinstonSalem.com.
Q: Are out-of-town entries allowed?
A: No. All entries must be with churches/organizations within the Winston-Salem city limits.
What if some members of my team live outside Winston-Salem?
A: Individual team members do not have to live in Winston-Salem as long as their church/organization is in the city.
Q: I have x number of people in a routine, which type of entry do they fall into? I also have different age groups.
A: Great Question! Our entry categories are:
- Solo Age 12- adult (1 dancer)
- Young Adult Group age 12-17 (Maximum of 8 dancers)
- Adult Group age18-adult (Maximum of 8 dancers)
All competitors must be 12 years old by October 1, 2017.
Q: My team ranges in age from 16 to 35. How should I register?
A: Calculate the average age of your team members and register them for the appropriate category. Example: A team with four members, ages 16, 17, 23 and 25, has an average age of 20.25 years and would register in the Adult Group category. (To calculate the average age, add up the ages of all team members and divide by the number of team members.)
Q: What is the registration deadline?
A: All entries and associated fees must be submitted by September 29, 2017
Q: What are my options for paying the registration fee?
A: All registration fees must be paid online. All major credit cards accepted.
Q. Is there a discount for registering more than one team?
Q: Where/When can I upload the music for my routines?
A: All music must be uploaded through the registration process through the website www.RejoiceWinstonSalem.com. You will be uploading either a .WAV or .MP3 file. If you have questions about audio, contact Jennifer Chrysson at 336-734-1243.
Q: I want to bring friends and family members to the competition. Do you charge admission?
A: Yes. Admission is $5; ages 5 and under FREE. Tickets will be will be sold at the door. (Dance team performers and their team coordinator do not need a ticket.)
Q: I am the choreographer/dance instructor and need to know the stage dimension for Kennedy High School auditorium so we can start to rehearse.
A: The stage is 44 feet wide by 20 feet deep. You will be able and enter from stage left or stage right.
Q: Are sets and props allowed?
Sets: Scenery or backdrops may not be used.
Props: Items such as flags, ribbon, scarves, and crosses not to exceed 3 feet may be used. All props must be free-standing; no props shall be affixed to walls or curtains or flown above the stage.
Q: Is there a dressing room for us to warm-up, fix hair & makeup, and change into costumes?
A: The gymnasium at the school will be used for warm-ups, etc. A section will be designated for each performer/team.
